Suspended IAS Officer Abhishek Prakash Charge-Sheeted in Lucknow for Serious Corruption Allegations

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has served a formal charge sheet to suspended IAS officer Abhishek Prakash in connection with serious corruption allegations amounting to ₹400 crore. The charges stem from two major scandals: the Defence Corridor scam and a bribery case involving Invest UP.

After receiving reports from the Revenue Board and Invest UP, the state government finalized and issued the charge sheet. It highlights Prakash’s alleged involvement in administrative negligence related to the Defence Corridor project in Bhatgaon, Sarojininagar, Lucknow, where irregularities worth ₹58 crore were reported.

In the Invest UP bribery case, Abhishek Prakash is accused of deliberately withholding a Letter of Comfort (LoC) for SAEL Solar P-6 Private Limited, a solar energy equipment manufacturing company. According to the charge sheet, he allegedly demanded a five percent commission amounting to ₹400 crore, obstructing the company’s file in the process.

Prakash has now been asked to respond to these allegations. Further action will be determined based on his reply. All eyes are now on his defence and the possible repercussions of these grave charges.
